У мережі показали дивовижні фото місяця Сатурна – Енцелада

Викладач кафедри астрофізики Університету Калгарі показав світлини поверхні місяця Сатурна Енцелад.

Фото він опублікував на сторінці в Instagram.

“Якби ви могли податись кудись у Сонячну систему, куди б ви їхали? Наша сонячна система хоча і крихітна, в порівнянні з рештою всесвіту, має багато приголомшливих місць. З усіх них, я думаю, я хотів би потрапити на місяць Сатурна Енцелад”, – йдеться в дописі до світлин.

Викладач додав, що на поверхні Енцеладус є велика кількість льоду та снігу, частина маси яких “втечуть” у космос і стають частиною кілець Сатурна.

If you could go anywhere in the solar system, where would you go? Our solar system, although tiny compared to the rest of the universe, contains many stunning locations. Out of all of them, I think I would want to go to Saturn's moon Enceladus. I can imagine the view would be unlike anything. Overhead, Saturn and its rings can be seen in all their glory, accompanied by many of Saturn's nearby moons. Furthermore, the eruption of cryovolcanos on the surface of Enceladus send vast amounts of ice and snow above the moon's surface. Some of it escapes into space and becomes part of Saturn's rings. Yet some falls back onto the surface of the moon. Imagine that. The light snow falling upon the surface, with Saturn and its rings sitting just above you.
